K.C. Equipment is located in El Cajon in Eastern San Diego County and provides services to local, state and federal agencies throughout the western United States. Our specialities include:
  • Chip seals (also called "seal coats")
  • Storm drain excavation & installation
  • Culvert repairs & installation
  • Erosion & sediment control (including the design, implementation & maintenance of BMPs)
  • Playground installation & inspection
  • Grading
We are especially well known for a pavement maintenance technique called chip sealing. [Click here to learn more!]. Our extensive experience in this type of work, along with our ownership of a BearCat 2002 Chip Spreader, makes us a preferred contractor in a variety of locations in the West. We hold Class A, B and C12 licenses (CA lic. #426649).


We pride ourselves on providing quality customer service and make every effort to be responsive to the varied needs of the people we do business with.  By maintaining a well organized Quality Assurance Program and creating a streamlined and transparent process for dealing with any complications that arise during the course of a project, we have built a reputation of integrity within the industry.  We have a long history of solid relationships with many subcontractors and have built a strong resume of successful projects completed on time and at or under cost. 
 

Not only is Kevin Casey the President of K.C. Equipment, Inc., he is also an Operating Engineer who has been a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 12 since 1978.   He is certified by the National Playground Safety Institute (NPSI) as a Playground Safety Inspector Playground Inspector.  KC has extensive experience in many facets of both building and engineering construction dating back to 1973.  He has managed and conducted oversight on a wide variety of projects including road, highway, and bridge construction, water and sewer line construction, oil and gas pipeline and related structures construction, MSE walls, buildings and ADA upgrades, and power and communication line and related structures construction.  He possesses a number of industry-specific certifications and permits, inlcuding Excavation, Trenching, and Shoring Competent Person, U.S.A.C.E. Construction Quality Management for Contractors, T1 Annual Trench/Excavation (State of California/OSHA), 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification, and First Aid and Adult CPR.  He has taken the American Society of Civil Engineers' course on How To Select Earth Retaining Systems. 


 

As part of our committment to quality and safety, K.C. Equipment, Inc. requires all field employees to be certified in First Aid and CPR.  All employees who work in the field are required to attend weekly safety meetings to ensure that everyone is aware of overall and site-specific safety hazards.
